Who pays customs duty on a courier to India?
Usually the receiver in India, before delivery. The receiver may also need to complete KYC.
Are gifts sent to India duty-free?
Under current Indian customs rules, gifts sent by courier are generally not duty-free. Life-saving medicines and rakhis are exceptions.
What KYC does the receiver need?
Typically a copy of an ID with address, such as Aadhaar, passport or voter ID. We'll confirm what's required for your shipment.
What happens if the parcel isn't cleared?
If duty or KYC isn't completed in time, the shipment can be returned or held by customs. That's why we explain the steps before it's sent.
